Bissdom 10
I’ve started and come back to this post several times now. I know I won’t be able to give this ‘recap’ justice because trying to recap this conference is hard – it was just that kind of event. The kind where someone asks you ‘how was it’? And you start with great, ramble off some things that doesn’t really make any sense, and end with great.
I think I would sum it up in a couple of ways:
Knowledge – Some came from the workshops, some came from keynote speakers, and some came just from talking to other bloggers – ones that I’ve read before and others that I hadn’t. I think the central theme was find your passion & write about it. Love your blog & love what you blog about. Sure there’s things like content, SEO, traffic, CPM’s, blah, blah, blah … but if you don’t love it first then does the rest of it really matter?
Relationships – This weekend, some of my “blog friends” became in-real-life friends. I have actual, real-life images in my head. Not some silly avatar picture!! I must admit, I’m pretty skeptic about relationships online. It’s pretty easy to fake the “OMG’s” and “LOL’s” & toss around things like “BBB’s”, but there was seriously such a wonderful sense of community. I got to see & meet & speak with big-time bloggers that were just wonderful every-day ladies. Sorry to blow anyone’s cover!!
Rockstars - Because that’s what I felt like this weekend. Not because I am one or was one by any means. But the ladies behind Blissdom definitely know how to throw a conference! We dined like Queens for every meals. Seriously – I’ve never used so many pieces of silverware in the same weekend! We slept like Queens – the Opryland Hotel is just absolutely beautiful!! It pulled in Sarah Palin, Sandi Patti & Harry Connick Jr the same weekend that 500+ beautiful bloggers where there! And we were treated like Queens – the Sponsors of Blissdom pulled out all the stops!!
My only regret … I’m an idiot when it comes to taking pictures. I took two. I took two pictures the entire weekend. The entire weekend I took two pictures. One was incredibly blurry & one had Staci & Amanda in it. No offense ladies, but I see you every other day!!
So, my only question … when is Blissdom ‘11 & can’t we have a get together before 2011???

I took zero pics. Zero. And I tried to avoid being in any cause I hate to get my pic taken. So it’s like I wasn’t even there. Stupid me.

I wish I had been there. I stalked that conference on Twitter and am hopping around the internet like mad trying to learn vicariously through all of your wonderful ladies. Of course, I know the Opryland Hotel by heart because not only did I meet my husband there but I also worked there for awhile when I was in my 20s. I am definitely going next year! Happy to have found your blog – it is lovely!

It totally was a rockstar weekend! You hit the nail on the head there.
Don’t worry about pictures. One one hand you have some that don’t take many and on the other you have freakazoids like me who take 1,000,017!

I know exactly what you mean! I haven’t done a recap because there is just SO much to cover. It’ll come one of these days, though. Probably when no one’s reading Blissdom recaps anymore. Although it seems like Blissdom lives on throughout the year each time!

I’ve done two posts about Blissdom, but not a recap… how do you put into words the emotion, the power, the fun, the heart.? You can’t
You are beyond adorable. I wish Blissdom 11 were now.

You took 2 more pictures than I did. It was a wonderful conference, I agree! Having real pictures of online friends is a highlight to me, too. Those avatars are just too small!
